Performance and Capability
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, generating a robust 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. A quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission helps optimize responsiveness and efficiency, while the Selec-Trac® 4WD system provides surefooted traction in various conditions.
While the Jeep Wrangler 4xe can take you beyond the asphalt in any configuration, a few specialty trims take that capability to the next level. For example, the second-tier Willys trim adds 33-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, heavy-duty Dana44™ axles, off-road suspension tuning, and an electronic-locking rear differential. Jeep® Wrangler 4xe Range and Charging
A dedicated 17.3-kWh battery helps the Jeep Wrangler 4xe achieve an impressive EPA-rated 49 MPGe (miles-per-gallon equivalent). It also enables an estimated 21 miles of range using just electricity.1 Even with a depleted battery, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe can operate normally on gasoline alone, so you don't have to worry about range anxiety.
Charging takes about two to three hours using Level 2 (240-volt, 7.2-kW) equipment. However, you don't necessarily need to install special equipment to enjoy PHEV benefits. The Wrangler 4xe can replenish its battery overnight (11 - 12 hours) using a standard three-pin, 120-volt household-style wall outlet.
